Moments
This body of work is my way of listening to Dartmoor. Not describing it, not illustrating it, but tuning into its rhythms — the wind that threads through the heather, the sudden flare of colour against vast quiet, the sense of something ancient moving just beneath the surface. Each painting begins with that feeling.
Across these canvases, clusters of marks gather like tors or memories, while fine lines drift outward, tracing paths of connection, tension, or longing. The open space around them holds the atmosphere of the moor — its mist, its stillness, its unexpected intensity. Nothing here is literal, yet everything is rooted in place.
These works are emotional geographies. They explore how Dartmoor shapes thought, breath, and attention. They invite slow looking, allowing the viewer to sense the pull between forms, the quiet drama of distance, and the subtle ways the land leads you on.
For collectors, this series offers abstraction with a strong sense of origin — pieces that carry the moor’s presence in a distilled, poetic form. Each painting stands alone, but together they form a conversation about landscape, memory, and the delicate threads that connect them.
